Extra Long Wire Guard On Wooden Stick SOLD

Here is an unusually long wire guard on a wooden stick.
It measures 16 inches from the tip of the hook to the end of the stick. The fat handle is 1 1/4 inches in diameter and the cage is 3 1/4 inches. It features a 660 WATT socket stamped with an E with an arrow through it (Arrow Electric Co.)

The fixture shown here is a Benjamin three socket pendant cluster type T53. These came with options of 2,3,4 or 5 lights of which all versions came with an 18 inch flat opal reflector. This fixture is more sought after because it is signed by Benjamin. Many early Benjamin fixtures were not signed because Benjamin used many third party fixture parts and then hooked their clusters into them. This fixture and all of it's parts were manufactured by Benjamin. |

This giant antique work lamp is two sections (top and bottom halfs) held together by three nuts and bolts.It uses a porcelain socket and old large bulb which looks like must be the type of bulb that this fixture was made for.
Everything about this item point to a date from 1914 to before 1920.The bulb is marked only "Edison Mazda" which is before the GE logo and manufacturer marks started being added to this bulb. The socket and chain were replaced at a later date likely dating to the late 20's. |
